I had open heart surgery for a valve repair Nov.2007. April 2008 was diagnosed with pericarditis It took 10 months to finally come off of prednisone. I would try to come off but the symptoms would come back. Finally I came off and after 10 months of being free it’s back. Now I am on prednisone and cholchisine. I have to say I am really upset and can’t understand why this is so difficult to beat. I am an otherwise healthy 40 year old woman who has a good full life with a 4year old to run after. I have no time to be on bedrest. I live on Long Island and go to one of the best heart hospitals in the world. I don”t get it.
