To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download vaginal prolapse/bladder prolapse with sling I am a 57 yr. old, and had my prolapse surgery on 7/14. I am now starting my 3rd week post op, and am amazed how this surgery truly HURT and zaps your energy. I am a nurse, and thought I was prepared for this; did all my homework pre-op. Surgery went well, but within hours after surgery, I developed bladder spasms. The supra-pubic catheter was the biggest discomfort, and I developed a bladder infection once at home. Now, at 3 weeks, I am surprised that even carrying my purse causes alot of pelvic pressure and heaviness. So everything they say re: recovery is true, and you truly need to allow that time to heal. I have a hard time sitting for any period of time, and hope that will change soon. This is not written to “scare” anyone who is contemplating surgery, but just more of a realistic paragraph on what you can expect. Comments
